- "Some fancy pipe and drum solos proved conclusively that the
group is indeed worthy of the many awards bestowed upon it."

The Kanawha Valley Pipes and Drums performing at
The Greenbrier,
White Sulfur Springs, WV on July 4th, 2007.
WELCOME...
... to the home page of the Kanawha Valley Pipes and Drums (KVP&D)
from St. Albans, West Virginia. Our pipe and drum corps has been around
for more than 25 years, and performs in parades, concerts, competitions
and special events across the eastern United States. We are a member of
the Eastern United States
Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA). In 1997, 1998 and 2000 we finished
5th overall in Grade 5 and in 1999 were upgraded to Grade 4. Due to some
unfortunate deterioration in our membership, we moved back to grade 5 for
the 2000 season. After much hard work and determination, we were
able to finish the 2000 season in 5th place in Grade 5. In 2001 we were
moved back up to Grade 4 once again. The 2001 season was a good one but changes
in membership dropped us back out of competition in 2002. In 2009 we returned
back to competition in Grade 5, good to be back..
The goal of our non-profit organization is to promote Scottish and Irish
heritage. We achieve this through performances featuring the Great Highland
Bagpipe and Drums, as well as through the instruction of piping and drumming
in the highland style. |
